As he traveled the nation mentoring students, he identified a void in the marketplace.
There were only two choices for technical support…

  1. The break-fix model where someone would come to your office and repair the problem and leave.
  2. The Enterprise support model, utilized by large companies doing millions of dollars a year in business. The problem he found was that small businesses couldn’t afford the Enterprise Consultants. Because of this, they lacked the resources and knowledge to compete in the global marketplace. The Break-fix guys that they depended on only fixed problems, and never spent any time understanding the client’s business.

If the break/fix contractors didn’t understand their client’s business, how could they make recommendations that were both cost effective and appropriate?
